This one-year master’s program provides an understanding of management and quality management theories and their practical application in educational and related organizations. Students gain knowledge in areas such as education management, school leadership, teaching and learning, quality assurance, and evaluation. They also explore international education trends and the sensitivity of transferring these trends into national educational policies.
The program ensures that students acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills essential for successful work in the education sector.

The master’s program enables students to explore theories of organizations, leadership, learning, collaboration with communities, and quality in education. It promotes the use of acquired knowledge by teachers, educators, principals, and other professionals in education. The program is also suitable for experts from other fields who work in leadership, quality assurance, training, and professional development.

Frequently Asked Questions
Masters Study Program (second level) in Management and Quality in Education lasts for 1 year (+ an additional year for students with a three-year undergraduate degree). Upon completion, students obtain level 8 qualifications according to the Slovenian Qualifications Framework (SOK) and earn the title of Master of Education Management. The completion of this program allows for employment or continuation of studies in third-level doctoral programs.
The academic year at ISSBS is divided into three trimesters, with students taking 2 to 3 courses each trimester. A trimester lasts 10 weeks, followed by an exam period. At the end of the academic year, there is an additional exam period to allow students to complete their exams. More information can be found in the academic calendar. Courses are conducted sequentially from October to May, and in the second half of the academic year, students may begin working on their master’s thesis. The program is conducted entirely online via the ZOOM video conferencing system, while some requirements for the additional year are carried out in person at the faculty’s headquarters.

All of our programs are publicly accredited by the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and are recognized for further education/work both in Slovenia and abroad.
